Olubunmi Damilola Omoniwa

Head of Operations, Editing and Ghostwriting

Bunmi believes in paying it forward, making a difference and not leaving people as she met them. As much as it is possible, she aims to make the lives of everyone she relates with better. Her mantra is “Let your words and actions raise someone up; of what use are words that do not build people?”

Olubunmi Damilola Omoniwa is a B.Sc. Economics graduate from the University of Lagos, a former banker, a lover of words and a communications consultant. Apart from her passion for words and the right use of them, Bunmi loves adventure, travelling and exploring new places.

Her first corporate job right out of school, was with MTech Group, Nigeria office, where she worked as Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Operating Officer and within a few months, took the role of EA to the Group Managing Director. Shortly after, she made a switch to being a content producer and Artiste Relationship Personnel in the same company. In July 2009, post National Youth Service, she transferred her services to a more formal corporate sector in Banking, then serving as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of Finance in Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria for three years. There, she honed her Business Writing and Communication skills, a role that also taught her a lot about administrative and organisational skills.

She took a career break in 2012 to support her husband who had accepted a more challenging role in Singapore. The three-year assignment saw the birth of their two children and required her to spend more time at home. In 2016, she set up a Business Communication Consult through which she conducted Business Language trainings. She became a feature writer and part of the editorial team with Today’s Woman Media (TW Magazine) from January to December 2017.

As part of her job roles, she managed columns, researched and reported stories and conducted series of interviews. In January 2018, she followed another spousal commitment and relocated with family to Lusaka, Zambia from where she currently serves as Head of Operations, Editing and Ghostwriting in SW Advantage Resources.

When she’s not working, volunteering in noble causes or mentoring the younger generation, Olubunmi watches TV shows to relax.
